September’s To Do List

September’s To Do List

In just 6 short days I will be home full time for a while. I’m not totally sure what the future holds but I know that at least for one month I will be working from home and taking care of Ty.  Lindsay has been back to work for almost a month now and I’ve spent my mornings as Super Dad and my nights as Matt the restaurant manager.  Each job is challenging but one has my heart more than the other.  I’m looking forward to the next season in my life and I’m also going to attempt to limit my own personal expectations.

You see Lindsay says I’m “time challenged.”  I know you’re wondering what being time challenged is.  Being “time challenged” (at least in our house) is when you think you can get a lot more done than what you actually have time for.  Let’s take one of my day’s off for instance.  I begin telling Lindsay about all of the things I’m going to get done a few days before my day off.  This often includes house projects, running errands, calling old friends, taking her out on a date and the list goes on.  When the day actually gets here I get so caught up with a particular errand or some project that I never get all the way through my long list of things that I would have liked to have gotten done that day.  At the end of the day I’m a little frustrated and I’m left wondering where all of the time went. September will be different, I hope.  Ok, I have three goals for the month of September.

1) I need to finish a new website for Linds(we’re working on a site that teaches people how to make bows)

2) Get more involved with our church

3) Take care of Ty

I know it sounds pretty simple but no matter how many things I don’t get done, at the end of the month if I can look back and say that I’ve accomplished those three things, I will feel pretty good.
So, how about a visual aide:

It’s going to be a fun month!  I’ll keep you posted as to how I’m progressing.
Oh, I almost forgot.  Football season is starting, so I have to add one more thing to the list.
4) Watch football!
Matt
