How did I end up here? How did I end up an entrepreneur, working my own schedule, choosing my own clients, and enjoying my work? Well it wasn’t all cupcakes and lollipops, that is for sure.
I recently had the pleasure of sharing my story with John Lee Dumas of Entrepreneur on Fire. John’s podcast is one of the top-ranked podcasts in iTunes. It’s a seven-day-a-week podcast that has featured guests like Seth Godin, Tim Ferriss, Gary Vaynerchuk, Barbara Corcoran, Guy Kawasaki, Chris Brogan, and me (you tell me which one of those is not like the other).
We discussed my biggest failure (surprisingly it was not the time my dad fired me…or the time I was sued by the FTC…or the time I almost went to jail) and what I learned from it (my “a-ha” moment). We discussed where I’ve been and where I’m going.
You can listen below to my entrepreneurial journey. I hope you enjoy it!
What’s been your “a-ha” moment in life or business, the moment when it all clicked or you learned from a failure?

My biggest a-HA moment was when Scott offered to make me a part of HTYC. I’d never felt like I had any skills or abilities that anyone would pay me for. So having someone offer me a spot in their company with a share of the profits was unbelievable. It changed how I acted, but more importantly how I viewed myself!
LOVED the EOFire interview!
Matt, I really enjoyed your interview and learning more about your journey. I know you are already on your way to big things. Continued success!
Thanks Brent! To you as well.
Your journey has been my inspiration in many moments when I question what in the world am I doing. Thank you!
Wow. Blown away by that.
I really enjoyed your interview on EOF. Lots of great insights and I got to know a bit more about you.
Sweet, Matt. Glad to see you up there with the big guys. Next time I’m in Ft. Wayne I won’t take no for an answer on meeting up.
Honored I could be a part of sharing your amazing Entrepreneurial journey Matt!
