There are few days I don’t listen to the song below before 7:00am. It’s called Brand New Day by KJ-52 and it’s my reminder that today is a brand new day.

Yesterday sucked? Today is a brand new day.

You failed yesterday? Today is a brand new day.

You were lazy yesterday? Today is a brand new day.

You own today. Today is a day of victory, not defeat.

And tomorrow…it’s another brand new day too.

God’s mercies are new every morning. You rise from your slumber and everything starts over. A new clock, new light, and new opportunities.

This is not pop psychology or cliché. It is true. Today is your day.

You are not where you want to be, but you’re not where you used to be. You are one step closer to your goals. Take another step today.

Shout it out, it’s a brand new day!

How are you going to make today YOUR day?

Love this and needed this message today! Today I am going to crank out some work because I’m two days away from a week and a half off and I want to be able to let go. Need to tie up loose ends and check things off my list. Thanks for the motivation!

Thanks Matt – it was a great day – in part thanks to the inspiration you gave this morning. So thank you!

BTW, I clipped this to Evernote for future inspiration!

…By doing my best to break this blog 😉 haha. jk. I’m gonna give my all at work, hug my wife and kids, work on developing some cool projects outside of work that focus on my passion, and check in with a friend who’s having a tough time lately!

    1. Matt McWilliams says:

Awesome Mark. How did it go?

And I know you were jk, thank you. 🙂

      1. Mark Sieverkropp says:

Dang you and your accountability!! haha. It went well. Good day at work, drove around looking at Christmas lights with the kids, didnt get a chance to do much about my projects besides think and plan, and checked in a couple times with my friend….so ya, i’d say it went well

  4. Going to be less sucky. Actually making great strides today and it’s not even noon.

I’ll make my day today by joining the Thank You Thursday revolution and placing a special thank you note on the desk of a couple of my team members.

    1. Matt McWilliams says:

      Yes, yes, and yes!

Lily, I hope that you will share your story of how that goes someday!

Great song and message. KJ-52 all the way!

Spending time with my wife and son, what could be better than that?:)

      1. Dan Black says:

        Good music.

  8. Joshua Rivers says:

Thanks for another great post! I’ll make the best of the day by preparing more for officially starting my business.

    1. Matt McWilliams says:

      How did it go Josh?

      1. Joshua Rivers says:

A few days late on this response 🙂 It went well. I have gotten several books to help me organize, plan, and get things set up. I have lots of good ideas, and I’m starting to get some of them set up for actual use. I’ll probably send e-mail updates as I approach an official start date.

      2. Matt McWilliams says:

Awesome Josh. Can’t wait to hear!

  9. Tom Dixon says:

Great recommendation – hadn’t heard of KJ-52. I’ll make the best of this time by enjoying the next 12 days off work with my family! I need the time to RELAX and BE STILL!

  10. An especially poignent statement and rally call considering that this is the day that has been touted as “the end of the world”. As Christians each day is a new day in Christ. Thanks for reminding us so wonderfullly!

I saw this from a pastor friend of mine yesterday.

Matthew 24:36 – No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. “No one” includes the Mayans.

      1. Mark Sieverkropp says:

I kinda figure that the Mayans just got freakin tired of figuring out the calendar after doing like 2000 years and said “Screw it! Our descendents can figure the rest out!” haha

      2. Matt McWilliams says:

Did it ever occur to anyone that the Mayans just ran out of ink? Just sayin’

      3. Mark Sieverkropp says:

or rocks? was it on paper? or carved? either way…they mayve just ran out 😉

      4. Matt McWilliams says:

Did it ever occur to anyone that the Mayans just ran out of ink?

  11. Jon Stolpe says:

Great to find another KJ-52 fan out there!

I’m starting the day out in God’s Word. It’s the best way to start any day.

    1. Matt McWilliams says:

I think that makes 19 of us total 🙂
