Thank You Revolution Header

Happy Thursday!

When is the best time to deliver a thank you note?

A lot of people ask me that question and often they are looking for a perfect answer. I jokingly respond, “Wednesday morning at 4:42 AM. If you can’t do it then, don’t do it at all.”

So there really is a best time, if you can control it. In today’s Revolution message, I share the top times to deliver a thank you by mail and personal delivery.

Check it out here:

Via Mail:

Right now. Don’t wait. You don’t know for sure when it will get there anyway, so just get it in the mail.

The next time you see the person. Write it now and give it to him or her the next time you meet.

Left for them personally (Best Method if possible):

First thing in the morning. Make it the very first thing he or she sees.

Whether you put a note in someone’s mailbox, slide it under their door before leaving the office, stick it on your spouse’s bathroom mirror, or put it in your child’s cereal box, make it a point to start someone’s day with a note of gratitude.

Make your note one of the first things they see in the morning. It might change the entire trajectory of their day…and yours.

Today’s Assignment: Think of five people who are local to you (yes, at least five…I know some of you will struggle with that and some will do twenty!) over the next week who you want to thank for something. Think of a way to get a thank you note to them early in the morning and do it.

Here are some possible ideas, some of which I shared above:

-Under their office door.
-In a book they read first thing the morning, such as a Bible.
-On the toilet handle.
-On the coffee pot.
-Taped to a computer monitor.
-In slippers or robe pocket.
-On the bathroom mirror.

When you do, I’d love to hear some of the creative places you end up putting them. Email your stories to me at matt@mattmcwilliams.com.

With Gratitude,

P.S. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

These are great suggestions for where to put them.. Now we have no excuse but to thank thank thank and thank some more! Thank YOU Matt! Your unyielding enthusiasm for the Gratitude that needs to be vocalized rather than internalized is inspiring and it continues to lift me and my team more than you will ever know. Thank you!
